Carrie Thorson

Physical Therapist

Carrie Thorson graduated from the Physical Therapy program at California State University Long Beach in 1987. She has worked in acute care, acute rehab, cardiac rehab, wound care, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and outpatient clinics treating both orthopedic and neuro clients in both land and pool based settings. She began working in the pool in 1995. Carrie started her own business, Aquatic Rehab & Consulting, in 2004 with two locations in Southern California. She treats a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics, ortho, neuro, and chronic pain. She is an adjunct faculty member for Chapman University’s Physical Therapy program, assisted with editing for the Aquatic Physical Therapy Section’s certificate in clinical competency, and is the California campus director for Aquatic Therapy University where she instructs fellow Physical Therapists in aquatic therapy continuing education. Carrie lives with her husband and three children in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

Michelle Storey

Physical Therapy Assistant                                                  

Michelle was born and raised in Southern California. She attended Vanguard University of Southern California from 1998-2002, and graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Sport Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training. While at Vanguard she had the opportunity to work with women's soccer, men and women's basketball, softball, baseball, and women's volleyball teams. In 2001 Michelle started working in an outpatient physical therapy clinic as a physical therapy aide and front office assistant. Michelle pursued her career in physical therapy by attending Cerritos College from 2002-2004, where she graduated with her Associate of Arts degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. In 2003 Michelle received her national certification in athletic training (ATC). Michelle started working as a physical therapist assistant (PTA) in 2004 in an outpatient physical therapy clinic focusing on general orthopedic injuries and student athletes. In 2012 Michelle refocused her career towards aquatic therapy. Michelle has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 2012. In her free time Michelle enjoys cycling and camping with her husband.
